The Connecticut Sports Foundation Against Cancer was founded in 1987 by Connecticut native John Ellis, a former catcher for the New York Yankees and cancer survivor to financially assist cancer patients and their families and fund cancer research. For the past 26 years, through its Grant Recipient Program, CSF has quietly granted over $3.5 million to more than 4,000 Connecticut families dealing with the financial hardship that often follows a cancer diagnosis. In addition, CSF has donated more than $1.5 million to support ongoing cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. As of July 1, 2017 Connecticut Cancer Foundation will be known as Connecticut Cancer Foundation. They will continue the important mission of financially assisting Connecticut cancer patients and their families as well as funding cutting-edge cancer research. Connecticut Cancer Foundation/Connecticut Sports Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. For more information, please visit: www.sportsfoundation.org.
